2012 movie to cast Cusack, Glover, Peet, Newton, Platt…

The big budget film named “2012″ is scheduled to release in July of 2009. As of mid-June 2008, the cast will most likely include: John Cusack, Danny Glover, Amanda Peet, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt, and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Redbelt).

The plot of the film: An academic researcher (John Cusack) opens a portal into a parallel universe and makes contact with his double in order to prevent an apocalypse predicted by the ancient Mayans. December 21st 2012 is the last day of the Mayan calendar, believed to be the end of the world. Glover would play the president of the United States, Newton would be his daughter, and Platt would be his chief of staff.

The word on the street is that the film has over a $200 million budget! The film was written by Rolland Emmerich and Harald Kloser. The film will be directed by Rolland Emmerich. Emmerich is best known as the director of Independence Day, Stargate, Universal Soldier, Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow, and 10,000 BC.

What is Planet X? (Nibiru)

What is Planet X?

Planet X is a hypothetical, supposedly undiscovered, planet that lies in the outer rim of our solar system. There have been claims that Planet X may also be a brown dwarf star, our Sun’s missing companion. Many believe that Planet X follows a long elliptical orbit and will pass through the core of our solar system in the year 2012. It’s proposed that, during this passing, Planet X will enrage the Sun and produce powerful Solar Flares - leading to catastrophic events on Earth.

Also, due to gravitational disruption during it’s passing through the Kuiper Belt towards the inner solar system, Planet X may bring along new asteroids (comets) that may impact the earth. Some scientists have related this event to the previous exstinction of the dinosaurs.

Throughout the years, Planet X has also been referred to as these names:

Nibiru: First proposed by Zecharia Sitchin. Based on his studies of ancient Sumerian texts, Sitchin claims that the planet Nibiru passes through our inner solar system every 3600 years, causing catastrophic events on Earth. The Sumerians were the first civilization on Earth, located in modern day Iraq. Ancient Sumerian texts accurately recorded all of the planets we know to exist in our solar system, but included an additional planet which they called “Nibiru”. The term “Nibiru” comes from the Sumerian cuneiform stone tablets and writings that are over 6,000 years old. The term Nibiru means “Planet of the crossing”.

Marduk: To the ancient Babylonians, Nibiru was sometimes referred to as Marduk - named after the god Marduk. The existance of Marduk in Babylonian culture stemmed from their ancestors, the Sumerians.

Nemesis (Brown Dwarf): When NASA used the Hubble space telescope to examine other nearby solar systems, they discovered a very interesting pattern. Nearly 90% of all other solar systems had 2 suns. Following this discovery, the idea of Planet X existing as a brown dwarf star began to seem more realistic. A brown dwarf star is a failed star that has cooled down and no longer emits heat or light. Due to the location of Nemesis since modern astronomy, the immense dust clouds and debris existing near the Kuiper belt have, supposedly, prevented proper imaging of this star.

10th Planet: Assuming the solar system as: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Planet X (Nibiru)

12th Planet: Assuming the solar system as: Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Luna (Moon), Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Planet X (Nibiru)

What started the Planet X phenomenon?

• In 1841, John Couch Adams began investigating the missing part of the equation in the motion of Uranus. In 1845, Urbain Le Verrier started to investigate this as well. Adams presented two different solutions to the problem, assuming that the deviations were caused by the gravitational pull from an unknown planet.
• Sept 30, 1846 - One week after the discovery of Neptune, Urbain Le Verrier declared that there may be still another unknown planet in existance. On October 10, Neptune’s moon Triton was discovered, which enabled an easier way to accurately determine the mass of Neptune, which turned out to be 2% larger than expected from the perturbations upon Uranus.
• In 1877, David Todd attempted to find a trans-Neptunian planet. Using a “graphical method”, from the residuals of Uranus, he concluded the existance of a trans-Neptunian planet.
• In 1879, Camille Flammarion added another clue as to the existence of a planet beyond Neptune: the aphelia of periodic comets tend to cluster around the orbits of major planets. Jupiter has the greatest share of such comets, and Saturn, Uranus and Neptune also have a few each. The aphelia is the point in the orbit of a planet or a comet at which it is farthest from the sun.
• In the early 1900s, astronomer Percival Lowell’s observation of irregularities in the orbits of Uranus and Neptune led him to believe that a distant planet, which he called Planet X, must lie beyond them. The Lowell Observatory’s long search for this planet eventually led to the discovery of Pluto in 1930. However, Pluto’s mass was found to be too small to disturb the other planets’ orbits significantly.
• On December 30, 1983 - A Washington Post article claimed that NASA’s IRAS telescope had discovered Planet X. However, shortly after that article was published, NASA forced the scientists to retract their statements and claimed that IRAS merely discovered a distant galaxy. They claimed that it was not the discovery of Nibiru or Planet X that people were hoping for. This has created quite a conspiracy theory for a possible government cover-up!
• In the early 1990’s, calculations by the United States Naval Observatory have confirmed the orbital perturbation exhibited by Uranus and Neptune could be explained by “a single undiscovered planet”.
• As of February 16, 2007 - The South Pole Telescope (SPT), located at the South Pole - Antarctica, is assumed to be being used to find and observe the planet Nibiru or related brown dwarf star - Nemesis. This is currently a popular conspiracy theory of a government cover-up for the SPT’s purpose and continual denial of the existance of Planet X by NASA.

Does life exist on Planet X?

Anunnaki: Zecharia Sitchin claims that ancient Sumerian texts describe the planet Nibiru being inhabitted with a human-like, highly advanced, alien race called the Anunnaki. The Sumerian texts state “all that we know, we were taught by the Anunnaki”. Anunnaki means “those who from heaven to earth came.” The Sumerians claim to have lived amongst the Anunnaki, whom they referred to as living gods.

Nephilim: In the Bible, the Book of Genesis describes the Anunnaki as “Nephilim”. Chapter 6, verses 3 through 4 - “The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown”.

Also, in the Old Testament, Isaiah states “From a far away land they came, from the end-point of Heaven do the Lord and his weapons of wrath come to destroy the whole Earth. Therefore will I agitate the Heaven and Earth shall be shaken out of its place. When the Lord of Hosts shall be crossing, the day of his burning wrath.”

2012 Transit Of Venus: Doomsday?

The transit of Venus takes place when Venus passes directly between the Sun and Earth - similar to a solar eclipse by the moon. During this time, Venus can be seen from Earth and appears as a small black dot moving across the face of the sun. The transit of Venus occurs in a pattern that repeats every 243 years: 2 transits 8 years apart, separated by long gaps of 105.5 years and 121.5 years (105.5 + 8 + 121.5 + 8 = 243 year pattern). The latest Venus transit occurred June 8, 2004 (lasting roughly 6 hours). Prior to 2004, the previous 2 transits occurred December 1874 and 1882. The next Venus transit will take place June 5-6, 2012.

In the past, the most notable pair of transits was in 1518 and 1526. This was the period when Hernan Cortes lead the Spanish conquest through Maya/Aztec territories. Due to the timing of Cortes’s arrival, the Maya considered him to be either a messenger of Quetzalcoatl (Kukulkan) or Quetzalcoatl himself, the primary Mayan/Aztec god. The ancient Maya called Venus “Noh Ek”, meaning “the Great Star”. They personified Venus as a form of the god Quetzalcoatl (Kukulkan).

The Maya began their Long Count calendar on what they referred to as the “Birth of Venus”. The Mayan Long Count calendar identifies a date by counting the number of days from August 11, 3114 BC (3114 + 2012 = 5,125 year Great Cycle). December 21, 2012 represents the end of the 5,125 year “Great Cycle” in the Mayan Long Count calendar.

Mayan day keepers explain we are living in the time of the 5th sun, approaching the end of a major cycle. Mayan prophecies also point to this time as filled with earth changes and transformation. 5 Great Cycles, or suns, equals 25,625 years, which is amazingly close to what modern astronomers count as one cycle of the precession of the equinoxes, 25,920 years.

In Latin, the word “Lucifer” is a name for the “Morning Star”, planet Venus. In the Bible, a celestial body is described as bringing an end to the world. The book of Revelation repeatedly mentions cosmic catastrophes, great earthquakes, and fire and brimstone falling from the skies:

Revelation 6:12-14
6:12 And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the whole moon became as blood; 6:13 and the stars of the heaven fell unto the earth, as a fig tree casteth her unripe figs when she is shaken of a great wind. 6:14 And the heaven was removed as a scroll when it is rolled up; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

The Bible does not provide a date when this disaster will occur. The only warning we have is that these events begin with the return of anti-Christ; Lucifer, representing Venus. Could this relate to the transit of Venus in 2012? The end of 5 cycles/suns/seals, opening/beginning the 6th seal (as explained in Revelation) may be doomsday! It’s a common belief that the Mayan Long Count calendar holds a prophecy that the world will end in 2012. Now, it’s looking like the Bible aligns with this Maya prophecy.

Aside from the Bible, from a scientific standpoint, many believe that the 2012 transit of Venus will trigger “doomsday” by interfearing with the Sunspot cycle, impacting the Sun-Moon-Earth-Venus system at a time of near galactic alignment. NASA predicts that a terrific solar storm will hit the earth in 2012 which will be 30-50 percent greater than anything before it. We’ll cover solar flares in another article that will be published soon.

Phoenix Mars Lander finds Martian ice!

Welcome to Monday - June 2, 2008. NASA’s Phoenix Mars Lander has successfully entered the Martian icelands! On May 30, 2008, scientists received images back from Phoenix showing the layer of ice that lies beneath.

Gaia Theory - Relation to 2012 ?

What is Gaia Philosophy?

Gaia philosophy, named after the Greek goddess who personified the earth, relates to concepts that claim living organisms on a planet will affect the nature of their environment with the goal of making the environment more suitable for life. All organisms on an extraterrestrial life giving planet regulate the biosphere to the benefit of the whole. Gaia concept draws a connection between the survivability of a species, and its usefulness to the survival of the other species.

The first in-depth form of Gaia theory originated in 1970 from a British scientist named James Lovelock. His Gaia theory relates to homeostasis, and claims that resident life forms of a host planet merged with their environment have always acted and continue to act as a single, self-regulating system. The system includes surface rocks, soil, and the atmosphere. Lovelock’s Gaia theory stemmed from the work he did for NASA involving methods of detecting life on Mars.

Since 1970, many other forms of Gaia theory have arised. One theory holds that all lifeforms are part of a single planetary being, called Gaia. In this view, the atmosphere, the seas, the terrestrial crust would be the result of interventions carried out by Gaia, through the coevolving diversity of living organisms. Another Gaia theory holds that the entire Earth is a single unified organism. This view claims the Earth’s biosphere is consciously changing the climate in order to make conditions more suitable for life.

An argument against the idea that Gaia is a “living” organism is the fact that the planet has not been, and is not, able to reproduce. Lovelock’s response to this claims that the human interest in exploring and colonizing other planets in space is an example of Gaia being able to reproduce. The famous astronomer, Carl Sagan, once remarked “from a cosmic viewpoint, the space probes since 1959 have the character of a planet preparing to spread it’s seed”.

2012 - Revenge of Gaia?

As each individual species pursues its own self-interest, their combined actions tend to have counter-balancing effects on environmental change. In fact, Lovelock’s latest book is entitled “The Revenge of Gaia“. Unlike most 2012 predictions, he claims that Gaia’s self-regulation will likely prevent any extraordinary runaway effects that wipe out life itself.

I highly recommend the 2001 Gaia-themed film, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. One of the main characters, Dr. Sid, was assumed to resemble James Lovelock. In the film, all living things are on the verge of exstinction and only Dr. Sid finds the way to stabilization using his Gaia theory knowledge. Roger Ebert gave the film 3.5 out of 4 stars and called it a “technical milestone”.
